Holy Step - Holy Mountain
The Holy Steps
Holy Steps consist of 100 steps leading to the highest Circle altar with perpetual exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. It is allowed to climb them only with our knees. Before climbing of the Holy Steps we wash each other’s feet as a sing of love, service and forgiveness. Then we climb the Holy Steps with clean feet and clean heart so that our prayers will be pleasing to God.
On each step we say: Jesus, Mary, I love you be appeased, save all souls. Amen. (We sing it in Igbu: "Jesus! Mary! A huru m gi an-anya, Biko ndo! Zoputa mkpuru Obi n’ile. Amen.) While mentioning the name of Jesus we bow our head and kiss the step before us. After the 10 steps we say in prostration the second part of the prayer "O Hearts of Love…"
Community living at Holy Mountain climbs Holy Steps during Vigil, Holy Hour and before Midday prayer. In other times many pilgrims and children from our schools are climbing the Holy Steps, while they say the Prayer of the Two Hearts of Love.
Jacob had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. (Gen 28:12). And so it is with the Holy Steps at Holy Mountain. Souls are there being transported to heaven through our prayers. Souls are there waiting for us to climb on our knees and pray for their salvation. At every step at least one souls is saved. Prayer of the Two Hearts of Love on each step is like an expulsion of bomb which saves souls on earth, releases souls from purgatory, brings great joy in heaven and causes earthquake in hell.
PROJECT:
From the Divine inspiration, Father Love began to enlarge the Holy Steps, to make it 7 lengths of 100 steps – each one dedicated to one of the wounds of Christ (Heart, right hand, left hand, right feet, left feet, head, shoulder). We also wants to roof the Holy Steps to protect it from the rain and the sun.Adoration on the Holy Steps
